SUBJECT LEADER FOR MUSIC - MPR/UPR + TLR2A

REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2021

For September 2021, we are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Subject Leader with a strong track record in teaching music who will work closely with our Subject Leader of Drama to expand the performing arts provision and engagement at Woodchurch High School. We are looking for a candidate who can set out a long term plan for music. A candidate who has vision, clarity and energy, and the capability to expand this area of the curriculum.

We are keen to appoint an outstanding teacher who shares our vision of delivering a vibrant and varied range of musical experiences for the pupils. As well as engaging lessons that promote a high level of participation and progression into Key Stage 4, we wish to increase extra curricular opportunities. Both independently and through collaboration with the Subject Leader of Drama, you will develop an exciting programme for pupils enabling them participate in performances and experiences that develop individual skills, provide enrichment and deepen cultural knowledge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the curriculum and will work with peripatetic teachers in organising bespoke learning opportunities for those pupils interested in taking singing lessons or playing a musical instrument.

Woodchurch High School is a very successful, over-subscribed co-educational Church of England Academy.  There are over 1400 pupils on roll, who are supported by 114 teaching staff and  over 120 support staff.
