Job overview

We are looking for an inspiring Subject Leader of History to join the Middle Leadership Team at Morton Academy.

The core focus of the role will be to deliver an outstanding curriculum to ensure all students make excellent progress in History.

We are striving for excellence in all areas of work at the Academy.  We are transforming an Academy as we work towards outstanding performance in all areas, but this journey is not yet complete.  We need someone who has the skills, knowledge and passion for improving educational outcomes to help us continue our rapid journey of improvement.

You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who has a track record of delivering excellent outcomes from your own classes, and who is able to help others to improve their practice.

Whether you are a current middle leader looking for a new challenge, or an outstanding classroom teacher seeking your first Leadership role, you will play a key part in the Academy’s development.  As we are growing every year there will be lots of opportunities for promotion and development.  You could play a part in leading and shaping the vision and future of our Academy for many years to come.

You will have a strong grasp of the new National Curriculum and Performance Measures, along with good technical knowledge of performance data at KS3 and 4.  You will have a vision for how performance data should be used by teachers, middle leaders, senior leaders and Governors within the Academy, and have the ability to put that vision into practice.
