Job overview

We require from 1st September 2018, a talented science teacher with energy and proven leadership and management experience, to lead this key area. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspirational and innovative leader to play an integral role in our school, building on the great many achievements. 

We expect that you will already have made an impact on the outcomes of students in your classes, and may already have experience of supporting other colleagues to transform standards across a team. You will be able to articulate a vision for developing academic pathways for scientists from 11-18, and will be ready to lead with confidence on assessment, teaching and learning. We expect you will be an experienced teacher of physics or chemistry up to A-level. 

We expect that you will be able to teach Science across the KS3 and GCSE ability range. The ability to teach A-level Chemistry or Physics is desirable.

About Bishop Heber High School

Bishop Heber High School is a mixed, non-denominational comprehensive school with a sixth form, there are 1280 students on roll aged 11-18. It is situated in the picturesque village of Malpas. The school has an enviable reputation for excellence both within its catchment area and far beyond. The school was founded in 1960.

Location

Malpas is a large village placed deep in the south Cheshire countryside. There are several pubs in the village as well as good quality local shopping. Malpas also hosts a regular Farmers’ Market. If you are looking to explore, Malpas is a great base for sightseeing with Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales just a stone’s throw away. Practically on your doorstep is the famous city of Chester, you can reach the city in 30 minutes and explore all the historic sites.
