Values and vision

Willowfield hopes to encourage pupils to fulfil their potential, ensuring that they are nurtured in a safe and happy environment. The secondary school prides itself on educating an international community, where more than 50 languages are spoken.

Pupils are challenged to be high achievers, with the school’s motto being “Give all thou canst”. Teachers aim for students to become great citizens and leave school with the confidence to compete with people from all walks of life, both personally and professionally.

Willowfield emphasises the importance of extra-curricular activities and citizenship engagement. It also has a thriving Student Leadership Council, who were involved in appointing the current headteacher.

Ofsted report

Teachers use questioning with skill, building on successful relationships with pupils who are keen to learn. Inspectors observed a number of examples of teachers asking questions that probed and challenged pupils’ understanding, helping the class to make good progress. Pupils’ personal development is enhanced by the range of extra-curricular activities on offer, including opportunities to participate in teams, clubs and competitions.”
