Subject Leader of Dance, from September 2018, 0.5 timetable

Leighton Park School is looking forward to appointing an able and enthusiastic Dance teacher to establish and run a Dance Department from September 2018. Dance has been offered as part of the PE curriculum ad Leighton Park for some time, but levels of interest and popularity in dance means that we are now looking to expand our dance provision and set up a separate Dance Department.

The Subject Leader of Dance will be expected to oversee the introduction of an academic Dance Department and teach Dance in the school. You will manage the provisions of curriculum Dance for all age groups and to ensure that the delivery of academic dance on the curriculum is inspiring, relevant and successful. Secondly the as the Subject Leader of Dance, you will also establish and run a stimulating, challenging and varied extra-curricular dance programme across the school. Dance should be universal and we are keen for the Subject Leader of Dance to promote Dance across the school. 

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual who will contribute to our current teaching and learning strategies and develop their own teaching practice with our support.  You will be someone with a passion for Dance who will inspire and engage our students, and who will actively assist in the further development of Dance within the School. 

You will join a committed, hardworking and friendly department who work closely together to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students. The ability to teach across the range of Key Stages is desirable but experience of teaching GCSE Dance is essential.
