We seek to appoint an energetic leader for our large and diverse Design & Technology department.  We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about Design and Making, and this could be their first step into a leadership role.  For the right person we would offer support and training to develop into this role.

We welcome applications from candidates who have the drive and passion to share high quality and innovative practice in the classroom, and lead Curriculum development alongside the Head of Creativity. The successful candidate will be both student and staff focused and passionate about sharing their love of DT with our diverse and inclusive student body.

You will be a team player who encourages collaboration within the department and the wider school. Experience across traditional processes, CAD/CAM and teaching A level is essential. The successful candidate will lead a department of 3 full-time teachers and a full-time technician with a range of expertise and skills.

Teaching

The successful candidate will be expected to be an excellent classroom practitioner, enthusiastic about their work with young people and have a genuine concern for their development as individuals.

The school sees the form tutor as a key role in the support, development and welfare of the students and teachers are expected to undertake this role with the same standards and commitment as their subject role.

Why come to Hinchingbrooke?

Located close to the junction of the A1 and A14, Hinchingbrooke is only thirty minutes drive from Peterborough, Bedford or Kettering. The facilities of both the school and the department are extensive and include a large laser cutter and CNC milling machine.

This is a fantastic school to work in: visitors often comment on how wonderful our students are, the positive team ethos amongst staff and how friendly and welcoming the School is.  If you are an outstanding teacher, it really is worth applying for this post and joining somewhere special.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Hinchingbrooke School values the diversity of our workforce and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.
