Values and vision

Through opportunity and encouragement, St Bede's Catholic Voluntary Academy aims to enable all those connected with the school to grow in faith and spirituality. The school is founded on gospel values. It encourages students to love their neighbour and to act in a Christian manner in all activities.

At St Bede's Catholic Voluntary Academy, emphasis is placed upon the individual and uniqueness is celebrated. Each student is considered special and encouraged to develop their talents to the full. The secondary school’s aim is to motivate and empower its students to realise their full potential and develop spiritually, academically, morally, socially and physically. Teachers work in partnership with parents and the school's parishes in the educational journey of its pupils.

Ofsted report

“Pupils’ spiritual, moral, cultural and social development is exceptional. Values of ‘love, respect and service’ reflect the school’s Catholic ethos. They are made real to the pupils as they are woven through the life of the school. Pupils are polite and thoughtful young people. They are already active citizens making a good contribution to their community. Governors are rigorous in their challenge to leaders about the standards achieved. They celebrate success and do not shy away from supporting leaders to tackle underperformance.”
