Subject Leader of Food Studies
Do you have the recipe for success and want to be a part of an outstanding, energetic and modern department?
We are looking to appoint an experienced and inspirational teacher with the vision and talent to lead Food Studies, as part of our Design and Technology Department. This position would be suitable for an experienced teacher seeking increased responsibility and a new challenge.
The Design and Technology Department at The Bishop Wand School is a team of outstanding, dynamic and supportive teachers who bring energy and enthusiasm to the delivery of their subject. The role will include teaching of Food Technology and Catering across KS3 to KS4 and all ability ranges, whilst contributing to a Department full of energy and ambition.
This is an exciting time for the Design and Technology Department. We have been going from strength to strength in the past 3 years and now have a team of outstanding practitioners that work well together and are keen to share ideas with each other and trainee teachers. Our team is innovative with a drive to introduce new and modern projects with enthusiasm. Our GCSE results have been consistently excellent, achieving some of the highest residuals in the School. We strongly value enhancing the learning of our students though extracurricular activities, to see design in action and we are looking forward to taking students to Cern in October. We also run a range of extra-curricular STEM clubs and hold an annual staff and student Bake Off. We are looking for a teacher who would be willing to help move this level of success even further.
To share our ethos of ‘Realising God-given potential’ you must possess a clear vision for outstanding subject provision, and have the ability and commitment to securing high standards of student achievement making learning relevant, and developing employability skills in our future young professionals. In return we can offer you a friendly and supportive environment with excellent development opportunities.
The Bishop Wand Church of England School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position will be subject to an enhanced disclosure application to the Home Office Disclosure and Barring Service.
