Over the last three years the continued improvements in our GCSE results, and our ‘Good’ Ofsted rating, have resulted in The Coleshill School becoming a popular and oversubscribed school. This rapid growth in numbers means that we are developing our leadership capacity and looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to lead our history team. History results increased dramatically in 2017. History is the most popular subject at GCSE and is increasingly popular at A Level. This is therefore a very exciting time to take on the leadership of this department and an opportunity for you to develop your leadership skills.

The successful candidate will work alongside our newly appointed Head of Humanities in providing the vision and strategy within a forward looking and increasingly successful team. You will be working with an exceptional team of teachers including a Specialist Leader in Education, for History.
As an outstanding practitioner within your own classroom, this will be an exciting opportunity to expand your leadership across the wider school system. As a Subject Leader at The Coleshill School you will be provided with leadership development through regular coaching from a senior leader and access to the professional development programmes through the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership.
Being part of a successful multi-academy trust ensures that there is opportunity for collaboration between the four secondary schools in the ATLP so to ensure that best practice is shared. There are regular network meetings that ensure that our leaders have access to the latest developments in pedagogy within their subject area.
