This is an extremely exciting time to be joining Leeds City Academy, one of the most rapidly improving schools within the Leeds area and county of West Yorkshire. Role:

To lead required subject components of the music curriculum area as agreed with the Senior Vice Principal, including the effective deployment of staff and resources in order to achieve the academy aims: improving the outcomes for all students.

Responsible for the staff within the music team.

NB: All post-holders at the White Rose Academies Trust are responsible for improving the outcomes for learners and upholding the ethos of the academies. Keeping Children Safe in Education and the guidance for Safer Working Practices directs the work of every adult working at or associated with White Rose Academies Trust. 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

•         Uphold and implement all whole academy policies in the discharge of duties of the post.

•         Plan the offer of appropriate courses within the curriculum area.

•         Report on standards and progress in the area by tracking through the year and producing summative reports as required.

•         Produce the annual Strategic Plan within the overall Academy Strategic Plan priorities, based on an assessment of prior progress, an ongoing analysis of strengths, areas for improvement, and outcomes of Quality Assurance and whole academy monitoring events.

•         Deploy staff effectively in order that they achieve a consistently outstanding standard of teaching or support for learning.

•         Actively participate in Academy Performance Management processes, acting as performance manager for staff as agreed in structure.

•         Be accountable for student outcomes and progress at Key Stage 3 and 4, and in all subject examinations pertinent to the music team.
