Required for September 2018 or January 2019, an enthusiastic Head of Physics to join a supportive science department. The role will involve completing schemes of work for the new GCSE syllabus, supporting A-level and International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching, exam entries and supporting a team of three colleagues. The Head of Physics will be responsible for all key stages studying Physics and experience of teaching Sixth Form is desirable, but not essential. A commitment to STEM and enrichment for our students is also highly valued.
The Science Department achieved 89% A* - C GCSE, 33% A*-C A Level, 67% IBH 5+ Physics in 2017, and the subject is becoming a progressively more popular subject in the Sixth Form.
The Anglo European School is a comprehensive school with a curriculum informed by the values of the International Baccalaureate, including a strong international dimension, and with pupils who demonstrate outstanding personal development. All members of staff working at the school support the aims and ethos of the school and participate in the well established visits programme.

About Anglo European School
Anglo European School is a 11-19, co-educational comprehensive school situated in Ingatestone, Essex. It has approximately 1,415 students.
The school was opened in 1973 after the closure of a secondary modern school led locals to campaign to keep the school open and the Local Authority, Essex, decided to establish a school with a “European Dimension”.
Anglo European School serves local needs but also draw students from across Essex and parts of London. In 1977 it became the first UK state school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and in 1995 the first comprehensive school to become a specialist Language college. In 2005 the school established the first co-headship model in a state secondary school.
As a centre of excellence for language learning, the school offers Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish as well as English as an Additional Language and Latin. Up until age 16 all students study two languages other than English.
In the sixth form, students must study one language. They have a choice of A-levels or an opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma. There is also the chance to study selected parts of the IB Diploma with A-levels. In addition, the International Baccalaureate Career Programme provides an internationally recognised vocational qualification.
