We are a popular, vibrant and successful 11-18, non-selective school. Our motto as part of the UL family of academies is “The Best in Everyone”.

In March 2015 OFSTED identified that we were a ‘good’ school. The cornerstone of our success is that students enjoy school.  “Students’ attitudes to learning are positive. Students want to do well at the academy”.  – OFSTED MARCH 2015

We have developed a culture of “hard work” and “dedication” from our students and staff alike, where high expectations and a desire for success are standard and everyone is proud to belong to Accrington Academy.

We believe that everyone at the academy can be outstanding and we seek to draw out the full potential in everyone. We do this by instilling the following values in all our students:

  • Ambition
  • Determination to succeed
  • Respect for others, ourselves and the environment we live and work in
  • Enthusiasm
  • Confidence
  • Creativity
