Job overview

Concord College Summer School is an international community set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. The college offers a range of academic courses, as well as English Language and Science courses for students along with a range of recreational activities to students aged 10-17 years during the summer period from July to August. The excellent academic and recreational facilities provide international students with a fantastic British summer school experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for an English Course Teacher, with a focus on creative writing, to join our team to deliver high quality lessons on session 1 of our 2023 summer school, as part of the Academic Projects programme.

Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to adapt and work flexibly even when under pressure. In addition to delivering a high standard academic programme, applicants are expected to contribute to the Summer School’s Enrichment Activity Programme and the Social Programme. As this will include evening and weekend work on a rota basis, a residential option is available.

The courses will run as follows:

Session 1: Tuesday 27 June – Tuesday 18 July 2023

Please note: The above dates include induction training days and a post-course de-brief day.

Qualifications

It is desirable that applicants hold a degree and preferably have at least one year’s teaching experience. 

Proficiency in both spoken and written English and previous experience of living or working in the UK is essential.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. The College does not apply for work permits, visas or offer sponsorship.
