Job overview

Notting Hill Prep and Bassett House School are looking for a Super SENDCo to strengthen our provision and lead the support across both schools. Situated a ten minute walk from each other, the two schools are pooling their resources to ensure we get the very best candidate to fill this role in two thriving London prep schools.

Although very different in nature, both schools want the best for our pupils. We are looking for an individual who has an exceptional understanding of SEND needs and support and who relishes the opportunity to support and further develop two very capable SEND departments and the communities they support.

The success of this role will very much be dependent upon the ability of the successful candidate to work with our brilliant teams to design provision that is second to none. Collaboration will allow the children to excel and fly regardless of their individual needs.

We are schools where ambitious, professional and committed teachers are well supported, and can learn quickly and advance their careers.

At NHP the successful candidate will join the SLT and play a pivotal role in school development planning as well as taking their share of leadership responsibilities. Notting Hill Prep is a ‘Thinking School’, a title which reflects its approach to education and its devotion to instilling in its children the values of resilience, creativity and responsibility. We teach children not merely to learn, but to learn how to learn. The successful applicant will share the school’s aspirations.

Good personal presentation, a friendly disposition and a willingness to participate in school life are considered important qualities for this position.

This role will involve contact with, and responsibility for, children and will amount to ‘regulated activity’.

The closing date for completed applications is 9am on Tuesday 6th May 2025 although early applications are encouraged. Interviews will take place shortly after this date. Short listed candidates can expect to have an interview and to teach an observed lesson.
