In 2017 Leeds East Academy was the most improved school in Yorkshire and the 4th most improved school in the country, celebrating remarkable GCSE results with an outstanding Progress 8 improvement of +1.09. Housed within a state-of-the-art new school building, Leeds East Academy is now the premier choice of school for families in the local area. Leeds East Academy is also a highly desirable and dynamic world-class establishment for ambitious education professionals, who will be joining one of the most productive, supportive and talented leadership teams in the country. The academy sustained progress in line with National yet again during 2018 and during our monitoring Ofsted inspection they commented that leadership is strong at the school.
The role of the Superintendent will deliver on a wide range of maintenance projects, ensure compliance and enhance the development of the existing Estates function. It will support and contribute to the Academy’s vision of delivering a world class education in world class facilities to all students.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake appropriate repairs e.g. redecorating, fixing, minor plumbing, changing light bulbs unblocking drains etc.
- To organise and carry out various maintenance duties to ensure that the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises and grounds is satisfactory
- To carry out building improvement work
- To be responsible for the operation of a preventative planned maintenance programme and for routine inspections of the buildings, fixtures, fittings, furniture, premises and grounds to assess for minor work or repairs required to be carried out to maintain safe and satisfactory conditions
- Undertake regular site inspections and identify and record repair and maintenance requirements
- Monitor performance of contracts and record performance against specified standards
- To advise on matters relating to energy control and conservation
- Lock/unlock the Academy buildings and areas
