The City of Edinburgh Council would like to invite applications from Primary Teachers who wish to be added to our Primary Teaching Supply register.

The GTCS are keen to maximise the capacity of the teaching workforce which have recently been highlighted in the media.

There is a need to consider the impact the current situation may have on the availability of teachers to provide both in-school learning and online learning in August and beyond. It is also necessary to prepare for the possibility of educational recovery plans being adapted to respond to further national or local changes in guidance.  

Whilst the potential need for additional teachers in the future is uncertain and dependent on a number of factors, we are working to ensure that we are in a position to support our school with identifying additional teachers should they be required to support educational recovery.

If you are interested in applying, you must have the appropriate sector GTCS registration and be available to accept placements once pre-employment checks have been completed.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
