Vision for Education, the supply arm of TES, are seeking to appoint a motivated and dynamic Support Worker to join our successful supply teaching team and to work in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools and provisions in March and the surrounding Cambridgeshire areas. This position is to start from after Easter 2018 and continue on a long-term basis.
The successful Support Worker will need to have the ability to effectively support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will be involved in providing targeted support either inside or outside of the classroom, and assisting children on a 1:1 basis, as well as in a group. The ideal Support Worker will be expected to accompany students to their relevant therapy sessions if required and be able to work effectively within a small team to ensure the smooth running of lessons. In addition, the successful Support Worker will need to be flexible, adaptable and able to hit the ground running in a busy and vibrant environment.
The successful Support Worker will have experience and excellent knowledge of working with individuals with learning difficulties and disabilities. Ideally, the successful candidate will be a Qualified Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, although this isn’t essential. This is because it’s more important that we appoint a Teaching Assistant who has a very calm, nurturing and engaging approach when it comes to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Applications are also encouraged from those with a Support Worker and/or Career background.
To be considered for this position of Support Worker (within schools and specialist provisions), you must:
