Job overview

If you are a conscientious, empathetic and experienced TA/ learning mentor with experience of work with looked after children and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties we would greatly like to speak to you.

We are currently recruiting a number of teaching assistants to support pupils who require additional intervention to enable them to be successful within full-time education. You will be required to work within mainstream schools and alternative provisions and provide 1:1 and some classroom support to help facilitate the reintegration of the allocated pupil into full-time education. You may be required to support within school on a part-time basis initially whilst a pupil’s progress is regularly reviewed with a view to increasing their timetable over a period.

This role will require you to work on a flexible basis with pupils to build positive, professional relationships and help each student to overcome barriers to their learning and engagement. Ideally you will have knowledge of working with Individual behaviour/ education plans to help you in your work to steer pupils on the right path.

Vision for Education SEND department is staffed by experienced consultants who are qualified educators. We have a personable approach and like to understand the need of our teaching and support staff as this is important when matching you to a role. Vision for Education have established long lasting relationships with schools, which enables us to maximise your opportunities for work.

It is desirable if you:
• Have a current DBS on the update system
• Hold a certificate in Team Teach
• Have a full UK driver’s license with business insurance

It is essential that you have:
• At least six weeks experience working within a school, preferably with Secondary aged students
• Proven experience working with students with additional learning needs

If you have any queries about the opportunities we have to work with looked after children across Greater Manchester or other opportunities to work with SEND pupils in Greater Manchester, please give us a call.
