helping tomorrow’s citizens flourish.
Drawing upon our partnership with the University of Birmingham and their world-leading research and best-practice resources, focusing on learning without limits, and combining our own diverse experience in education, the University of Birmingham School is setting an example of what’s truly possible for secondary school education – one that gives character development as much attention as academic success.
As the University of Birmingham School approaches full capacity in 2020, we again need to recruit well-qualified, talented and ambitious Targeted Intervention Assistants to join our SEND team who are committed to self-improvement, with the skills and enthusiasm to work closely within the department to support our young people with SEND and support our teachers to remove barriers to learning.
We have a number of roles available. As a Targeted Intervention Assistant you will have worked in a secondary setting (mainstream and/or specialist provision) with pupils with ASD. You will support, academically and socially, pupils in and out of class, support the development of self-regulation strategies, work closely with teaching staff and the ASD Lead to support strategies to remove barriers to learning/social inclusion, prepare resources and support with off-site trips. You will work with external agencies and in close partnership with the family.
We will have high expectations of you to be an outstanding role model committed to the distinctive ethos of our School. In return, we will recognise your contribution through an enhanced package of pay and benefits subject to performance.
