As a Teacher of Additional Support Needs who fulfils the essential criteria in the person specification you would have a key role in sustaining the developing 3-18 curriculum.
Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

Dumfries & Galloway College is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in Scotland, serving students from the age of 16 and above. The college has approximately 9,000 students on record every year. It is spread across two campuses – Dumfries Campus and Stranraer Campus. The college is part of the Crichton Campus partnership and shares services and resources with the University of the West of Scotland, the University of Glasgow, the Open University and Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC).
Formerly Dumfries Technical College, Dumfries & Galloway College opened in 1961. In 2008 the college received funding from the Scottish Funding Council and the European Regional Development Fund and the Dumfries Campus moved to a new building, which features Scotland’s first integrated Further/Higher Education library.
