The College is seeking a suitably qualified, passionate and experienced applicant for the part-time (3 days), fixed term position of Teacher Aide - Learning Support.


Mt Maria College, North Brisbane’s first Catholic Co-Educational College, was established in 1978. As a member of Marist Schools Australia, our educational philosophy is based on the teachings of St Marcellin Champagnat, the founder of the Marist Order. The College has developed significantly in recent years having expanded its facilities to provide excellent education opportunities for Year 7-12 students. Currently, 980 students are part of our Mt Maria family with a high demand for future enrolments. This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.

Mt Maria College is a co-educational Catholic secondary school, founded in the Marist traditions. The school is in Mitchelton, Queensland, a suburb of Brisbane, and serves students in Years 7-12.

The school was founded in 1987 and currently has 340 students. They pride themselves on having a small learning environment which creates more individualised and personal support to students from caring staff, as well as their modern facilities and expansive vocational training centre.

The school offers modern facilities, including dedicated centres for visual arts, design and technology, science, food technology and hospitality kitchens, and a music and drama centre. The school also offers a career centre and large library, as well as sporting areas for basketball, volleyball, and netball. 

Technology is important to both staff ad students, with laptops provided for students in Years 9-12, and all students having access to laptops and iPads through the technology centre. 

Curriculum

The school’s curriculum is based on key learning areas, which are religious education, English, mathematics, science, social science, health, business information technology, visual and performing arts, technology, and vocational training. A wide range of vocational qualifications are available, including engineering pathways, hospitality, digital media, and sport and recreation.

Popular extra-curricular activities include drama and instrumental music, as well as sports, which include swimming, cross country, rugby, basketball, tennis, and cricket.
