Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year – Permanent

Carew Academy is an outstanding special school situated at the edge of Beddington Park in Wallington. It has 250 students aged 7-18 with a wide range of ability levels and additional learning needs, including complex needs. There are plans for the school to move to a purpose built Free School in 2025.

Enriching experiences are offered such as residential and curriculum visits and students can access a full range of therapies on site. As a Teacher and Curriculum Lead for Information Technology you will have freedom and autonomy to decide curriculum content and delivery across the school and through the different range of student pathways that we offer from Primary through to GCSEs.  

No two days are the same, you can be creative in the way you teach and are given the opportunity to really influence the direction of the curriculum as you are the IT specialist.

Successful staff in our school maintain a determination to make a difference to the lives of our superb students and in return you really can see the immediate impact of the work that you do. They may have an interest or experience of working with Autism but we appreciate the skills and experience that somebody from mainstream school would bring.
