Job overview

We are a successful all-through school with students from Nursery to Year 11.  At Starbank we are committed to ensuring the highest quality learning experiences for all of our students, academic and otherwise, in order to shape the stars of today into the leaders of tomorrow.  

We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational and experienced classroom practitioner/leader with strong subject knowledge to champion the Religious Studies department. We wish to appoint an exceptional individual who has the necessary enthusiasm, skills and teaching attributes to nurture a passion for studying at all levels of ability; an individual committed to the highest expectations of attainment for all and capable of encouraging all students to realise their aspirations.   

The ideal candidate will possess a firm subject knowledge of Christian and Islamic belief systems, amongst others, which will be necessary for delivery of GCSE. 

The ideal candidate will be fiercely passionate about their own learning and keen to engage with continuous professional development; There is a TLR available for a candidate with the experience and skills to demonstrably raise standards of attainment through subject leadership, with additional responsibilities for the supervision of the quality of teaching in GCSE Sociology (Y9+10) and Health and Social Care BTEC (Y9+10). They will also recognise that learning is much more than what happens in the classroom and will contribute towards our broad extra-curricular enrichment provision.
