As a thriving Science department we are seeking to appoint a talented teacher/leader who shares our core values of keeping the students at the heart of what we do and offering an engaging, inspiring curriculum through all key stages. We are a collaborative team who drive towards success in both theoretical and practical application with high aspirations for our students and offer opportunities for enrichment both in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate will be joining a friendly and professional team who are fully committed to supporting their students.
The KS4 Leader will champion high quality, engaging and inspiring teaching of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Combined Sciences throughout Years 9-11. They will encourage innovative pedagogy and ensure high standards are maintained through consistent monitoring, evaluating and reviewing of outcomes.
The successful candidate will:
• Be an excellent teacher/leader who thinks creatively and has the drive to improve standards in the Department
• Demonstrate high levels of ambition and optimism regarding what the school and its students can achieve
• Have a passion for Science, able to teach all three sciences, Biology, Physics and Chemistry up to GCSE level
• Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students
• Be a highly-committed team-player, with a willingness to take an active part in the school’s pastoral care and extra-curricular programme
