Chifley College Dunheved Campus is part of a multi-campus, secondary college located in the Mount Druitt area of the Metropolitan North Operational Directorate. Dunheved Campus is one of three Year 7-10 campuses within this five school collegiate. The school has a current enrolment of 450 students including a four class support unit (one IM class and three MC classes). These classes cater for students with a range of disabilities including: mild to moderate disabilities and autism. Included within the student body is approximately 27 % of students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and a further 30% of students from backgrounds where English is an Additional Language or Dialect, predominantly Pacific Islander.
There is school wide commitment to data driven literacy and numeracy strategies which are designed to meet the needs of every student and build teacher capacity. The school has established strong wellbeing programs for students to connect, succeed and thrive. An enthusiastic and committed staff provide a supportive learning environment focusing on pathways for students to, through and beyond school.
The school maintains strong links with partner primary schools and the College Senior Campus, strengthened by a dedicated transition program for students. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Visual Arts and Photography and Digital Media. Willingness to teach Technology Mandatory (7- 8).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff, students, parents and the community.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective, engaging and differentiated teaching and learning programs for a diverse range of students.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
