Teaching ServiceBarnier Public School is a collaborative and innovative school situated in Sydney's North–West. Current student numbers are 871 with 48% of students from a language background other than English and 24 Aboriginal students. The school provides a range of extra curricular programs including: Debating, Public Speaking, Dance, Choir, Band and a variety of PSSA sports. Barnier staff have developed learning environments that support the use of technology to enhance learning. The school is well resourced to integrate technology effectively across all curriculum areas. Barnier staff are extremely passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated. They constantly respond to the changing needs of our students and school community by adopting research–based, data–driven processes and approaches, continually reflecting on practices to ensure the highest possible educational outcomes are achieved for all students.
Approval to teach infants and primary with proven ability to work collaboratively with teaching partnerships to design, implement and evaluate quality learning experiences.
Demonstrated ability to deliver data-driven and engaging literacy and numeracy strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students.
Outstanding communication, organisational and interpersonal skills to engage with all students, staff, parents and the wider community to build authentic partnerships.
Capacity to enhance, sustain, and/or lead the school’s various extra-curricular activities such as dance, public speaking and debating.
Proven ability to embed Aboriginal cultural perspectives into classroom practice with a demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policy.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
