The Behaviour Support Service accommodates students who have complex Social Emotional and Behavioural difficulties, therefore the service is looking for a strong candidate who is creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.   The appointed Teacher will be based at the Behaviour Support Centre and provide outreach support across schools in Carmarthenshire. They will have responsibility for modifying pupils’ behaviour both on a 1-1 basis and within small groups linking with members of the Behaviour Support Service.   The ideal candidate should have extensive recent experience as a successful mainstream Secondary school Teacher with experience of working with a range of staff, professionals and parents/carers and be comfortable in managing challenging behaviour. They must also be highly motivated, dynamic, have strong teamwork skills and a ‘can do’ approach to their work. They will be a highly effective communicator who is a nurturing, patient and positive individual and will be skilled at building relationships with pupils, staff and parents and able to provide advice and support successful implementation.  A very strong commitment to raising aspiration and improving wellbeing and attainment for vulnerable pupils is essential.  

Conversational Welsh is required to accomplish this post.  Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.                                                                                                                           This is a grant funded post funded via the Education Improvement Grant and will be Fixed Term contract up to 31.03.2018 in the first instance with a possible extension dependent on future funding.
