Cambian Brook View School offers a fully integrated approach to the Education, Care and Clinical support for young people aged 8 to 18 years, who come to us on a full time, residential basis from across the country, with a range of Autistic Spectrum and associated complex needs.
Set in over 20 acres of beautiful countryside with the potential for forest dens and classrooms, gardens, stables, tracks and trails, our teams will have the chance to build an amazing landscape for nurturing and developing the creativity and imagination of our children and young people.
Brook View pupils are fully supported with a tailored programme for their Care and Education and we deliver rich and innovative experiences, playing to each child’s strengths, to prepare them for their lives ahead. As a key part of the dedicated teams we allocate to every child, you’ll have a vital role in helping children learn and develop skills for life.
In return, our new and improved training programmes will help you develop your professional skills. You’ll also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and, just like our residents, you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To meet the needs of children through the use of effective teaching strategies and lesson structures to deliver the curriculum by:
· Being familiar with curriculum requirements and making full use of assessment information to develop, adapt and evaluate teaching strategies to give maximum benefit to students
· To recognise, value and raise the achievement of students
· To use effective teaching strategies and lesson structures to deliver the curriculum
· To communicate and consult with parents/carers and other appropriate people, participating in student focused meetings as required.
· To promote social and emotional development, positive behaviour and to prepare for adulthood
Person Specification:
· To hold Qualified Teacher status;
· Experience of working effectively as part of a team;
· Experience of teaching children and/or young people with Social Emotional and Mental Health/Autism and associated difficulties;
· Experience of planning, delivering and assessing learning activities appropriate to individuals’ needs and abilities;
· Experience of working successfully in situations which draw heavily on the ability to deal with difficult pressures and personal challenges.
Fully supported 6-month probationary period- You will receive a mentor and line manager to help you get the best start to your career at Brook View School.
