Position Information 

Located in the Georges River Network, Carlton Public School has a current student enrolment of 768. Students come from diverse socio–economic and cultural backgrounds. 93% of students come from language backgrounds other than English and 1% identify as Aboriginal Australians.

The school has a strong academic focus especially in growth and attainment for all students in literacy and numeracy. The learning needs of students are supported with a large team of specialist staff including specialise English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) teachers and Learning and Support staff, including teachers and learning support officers.

Carlton Public School is committed to increasing student achievement in literacy and numeracy and is committed to ongoing data-informed evaluation and collaborative practices aligned with the 2021-2024 School Strategic Improvement Plan. Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach Infants and Primary K-6 with a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs using evidence-based practices, assessment strategies and data analysis to improve student outcomes and growth. 
  2. Experience in developing teaching programs that incorporate differentiated strategies to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities including high potential and gifted students, students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and students with additional learning needs. 
  3. Proven ability to implement behaviour management and wellbeing initiatives that maintain and enhance a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom and school environment. 
  4. Demonstrated ability to implement future focused pedagogies and authentically embed Information Communication and Technology (ICT) within a flexible and innovative learning environment.
  5. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to promote a positive school culture through the development of positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the wider community. 
  6. Demonstrated capacity to enrich student opportunities by making a broader contribution to school programs in areas such as music and sport.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
