We are seeking two suitability qualified and experienced teachers to join our college team providing education to approximately 36 young adults aged from 19 – 25 with severe, complex and moderate learning difficulties and disabilities, the majority of whom are on the autistic spectrum. You’ll have a B.Ed, or degree plus a PGCE and have experience, enthusiasm and a keen interest in the SEN education sector.

One post will be will be recruited for on a permanent basis, whilst the second will be covering a period of Maternity leave, which will finish on the return of the current post holder.

You will be a class teacher for students ranging from Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3, for a group of approximately 5-6 students and leading a staff team made up of Teaching Assistants and additional support workers.

You will have opportunity to access specialist training and build upon your professional skills, becoming a strong and flexible practitioner to meet the varying needs of our students.

We have a large beautiful site with lots of open, green spaces and woodland that provides a peaceful, therapeutic setting and a dynamic teaching environment. Within the 50 acres are classrooms, student residential accommodation (large, spacious houses), a purpose built therapy building, a multipurpose hall (with a large stage for performances), a gymnasium, a shallow heated indoor swimming pool, a variety of indoor and outdoor workshops and a large kitchen garden which provide ample opportunity for creative, experiential learning.

In collaboration with our residential care colleagues and extensive therapy team, we aim to provide holistic, innovative and effective care and education to match the interests, skills and aspirations of our students and meet their individual needs.

The Sheiling Ringwood is an independent, residential special school and college and it provides a strong foundational core to enable our employees to provide the highest quality of care. Sheiling College is a Camphill College, an independent day and residential college for young adults aged 19 to 25 yrs who have a range of learning difficulties and special educational needs. We serve both the local region - Dorset, Bournemouth, Poole, Hampshire and Wiltshire and local authorities across southern England.
