Position Information 

Richmond High School is a member of the Richmond Agricultural Collegiate along with a Centre of Excellence in Ag-STEM Education. Richmond High School provides quality educational opportunities to a Local Enrolment stream, a Support Class stream, an Ag-STEM Specialty stream (from 2021) and an Ag-STEM Selective stream (from 2022).

 

The current enrolment of 630 students, including 43 students in the support unit and 63 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students will grow in coming years to approximately 1000 students. The school is committed to excellence in teaching and learning where all students can succeed. The staff are committed to quality teaching, innovation and maintaining a caring, supportive environment through the Positive Behaviour for Learning program.

 

The focus on Literacy, Numeracy, the use of technology in learning and a transdisciplinary approach to learning is providing a strong basis for current professional learning. A learning hub with an expert staff provides personalised learning support for students of all ability levels. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum, including a full range of academic core, Ag-STEM, Applied Learning, elective courses and vocational courses. Our school has an extensive range of extracurricular activities.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

1. Approval to teach English 7-12 and approval and/or willingness to teach drama 7-12.

2.  Highly developed communication skills and the ability to collaborate in the development and implementation of effective teaching and learning programs.

3. Demonstrated capacity to effectively differentiate learning experiences to engage, challenge and inspire diverse learners in future-focused pedagogies.

4. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively to build positive relationships with students, staff and the community.

5. Highly developed classroom pedagogy that meets the needs of individual students including Aboriginal students, High Potential students and students with a disability.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
