Job overview

The Metropolitan School of Frankfurt (www.m-school.de) is currently looking for a German teacher for the primary section of the school. MSF is an international school, but is also recognised locally as an alternative to the national system. The school has three sections: Early Years, Primary and Secondary. In the primary section the students learn predominantly in English, but also have regular German lessons each week. Our curriculum is based on both the Hessian Primary Framework and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP).

What we are looking for:

  • A degree in German as a foreign language (DaF/DaZ) or a primary teaching degree, recognized in Germany
  • Above-average commitment and team spirit
  • Native German language skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Enjoy working with children aged 6-11
  • Team-oriented manner with an interest in the development and implementation of new educational concepts
  • Experience in other international schools is beneficial, but not necessary.

About Metropolitan School Frankfurt

The Metropolitan School Frankfurt is an educational establishment that teaches girls and boys aged between four and 14 years old. It is based in Eschborner Landstrasse, Frankfurt am Main, in the Federal Republic of Germany. It is a mainstream, all-through, independent school. The school opened ten years ago, in 2007. At the moment, there are around 400 pupils on the roll. There are also approximately 31 people working at the establishment. The international school has a kindergarten section on the premises. It allows the children to achieve the International Baccalaureate Diploma. They can also sit the IGCSE exams and learn from the Cambridge curriculum.

Values and Vision

The aim of the Metropolitan School Frankfurt is to give the children the opportunities to success in life, by helping them to develop both academic and personal skills. The school offers a range of clubs for everyone who attends the site. This includes sports, drama and arts clubs. The children can take part in outdoor games, aerobics, football, basketball, hockey, fitness clubs, board games, woodwork and computer club. They are available in the afternoon at about 3.30pm. The aim of this is to help the children build life-long friendships and create memories that will last a lifetime. They will also develop social and moral skills from attending the clubs. The teachers are passionate and have specialist knowledge of the subjects being taught at the school. Students are cared for and supported. They should also feel safe at the establishment.
