Job overview

Teacher for the Visually Impaired
Virtual School Sensory Support, Norwich

Full Time
TPS plus SEN allowance £4,158 for candidates with the mandatory qualification

This is an exciting opportunity to join Virtual School Sensory Support which is within the newly formed Vulnerable Groups Access and Achievement Service in Norfolk.

A highly motivated teacher is required to join a team of teachers of the visually impaired supporting visually impaired children and young people, at home and in a range of educational settings across Norfolk.

The Virtual School Sensory Support offers a comprehensive and flexible range of support to visually impaired children and their families. We are seeking an inspirational teacher with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to think and plan creatively. A proven record of successful partnership working with parents, health and social care colleagues is an advantage.

You will need to have excellent oral and written communication skills. You will understand the barriers to access arrangements and learning that visually impaired children and young people face and how these barriers may be overcome.

An opportunity to train for the mandatory qualification whilst in post is on offer for the right candidate.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Karen Taylor or John Rous Milligan on 01603 704040.
