Teaching ServiceToongabbie West Public School (306 students) including 55% of students from language backgrounds other than English. The school has a strong community involvement with high expectations for student participation and achievement. Our school emphasises a rich, dynamic academic curriculum, including excellent performing arts, physical education and information and communication technology programs. Highly effective literacy and numeracy programs are implemented, underpinned by the NSW Quality Teaching Framework. Three hearing support classes operate within the school.
Approval to teach students with a hearing impairment and demonstrated ability to cater for the range of individualised learning needs of students. Ability to engage with teams and assist with professional learning initiatives focused on improving literacy and numeracy programs to improve student learning for all students. Proven ability to integrate Interactive touchscreens and associated technologies including hearing assistive equipment across the curriculum. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong interest in building relationships and initiatives to work collaboratively with parents, team members, other agencies and community members.
