Position Information 

Toongabbie West Public School (306 students) including 55% of students from language backgrounds other than English. The school has a strong community involvement with high expectations for student participation and achievement.   The cohesive staff team is committed to student well-being through quality teaching, collaborative planning and the Positive Behaviour for Learning program. Our school emphasises a rich, dynamic academic curriculum, including excellent performing arts, physical education and information and communication technology programs. Highly effective literacy and numeracy programs are implemented, underpinned by the NSW Quality Teaching Framework. Three hearing support classes operate within the school.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach students with a hearing impairment and demonstrated ability to cater for the range of individualised learning needs of students. Ability to engage with teams and assist with professional learning initiatives focused on improving literacy and numeracy programs to improve student learning for all students. Proven ability to integrate Interactive touchscreens and associated technologies including hearing assistive equipment across the curriculum. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong interest in building relationships and initiatives to work collaboratively with parents, team members, other agencies and community members.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
