About the role:
We are looking for an outstanding teacher with demonstrable leadership qualities and high expectations of students to teach and lead on A-level Computer Science at City and Islington Sixth Form College. You will be part of a team of 8 staff teaching AS and A-level Maths, A-level Computer Science, GCSE Maths and AS and A-level Further Maths. Computer Science is a popular choice for students at the Sixth Form with 57 year 12 Computer Science students currently on roll. If you are enthusiastic, innovative, care about students and want to work in a supportive and friendly environment this may be the job for you. City and Islington Sixth Form College is well established and over-subscribed. We are situated on one site at the Angel in the heart of London and our wonderful students travel from across the city to learn with us. All teachers are tutors to a pastoral group of up to 22 A-level students and we have a wide range of enrichment and extension activities to develop our students’ confidence and skills.
About you:
You must have an appropriate degree and PGCE. You will have experience of teaching A-Level Computer Science to 16-19 year olds with proven success. You will have the ability to provide effective curriculum leadership and have an understanding of the pastoral needs of 16-19 age group.
As of 1st of August 2016, City & Islington and Westminster Kingsway Colleges have merged to create the first College Group in London. This exciting development will help secure City and Islington’s future at the forefront on skills training in London and widen opportunities for both its staff and students.
