Job overview

Are you looking to develop your teaching career within a caring environment  in the Spanish sunshine?

We are a friendly, successful and growing British school based in the town of Vila-real in the region of Valencia, Spain. Vila-real is well connected and offers beautiful beaches, stunning mountains, lively towns, and benefits from its close proximity to the vibrant city of Valencia. The UK national curriculum is taught throughout the school and our students range from age 2 up to 18. The Primary school has approximately 300 students from Early Years to Year 6 and the Secondary school has approximately 300 students from Year 7 to Year 13. Last Summer all of our sixth form students successfully completed their A-Levels and gained places at a range of universities. The majority of our students are Spanish and learn in English, apart from in the compulsory Spanish subjects, which are all taught in their native Spanish language.

We are currently looking to recruit an inspirational teacher of Chemistry to ideally start in September but we can be flexible with the start date. The successful candidate will have experience of Secondary (Key Stages 3 and 4) and preferably A-Level teaching. The A-Level Chemistry course is one of the most popular in our Sixth Form. We follow the national curriculum at Key Stage 3, and use the Edexcel examination board for our IGCSE Chemistry course at Key Stage 4, and A-Level Chemistry course in our Sixth Form.

If you have the experience and are confident that you can deliver great learning in Science at KS3,  and Chemistry at IGCSE  and A-Level,  please complete the TES online application form and upload your teaching qualification certificates as additional documents.

Applicants should also include a personal statement, which responds directly to the following question (on no more than two sides of A4): ‘How would you contribute to the continuing success of The British School of Vila Real?’
