Joining us as a Teacher in GCSE English, you will provide high quality teaching, learning and pastoral support for students; teaching English GCSE (or equivalent) courses both theory and practical.  


Managing and tracking the student learning programme, you will carry out the required assessment which will include initial advice and guidance, initial assessment and referral for additional support if necessary and ensure the timely and accurate completion of student and course registers and ensure poor student attendance is addressed.


Liaising with parents/guardians, schools and other organisations with regards to attendance and taking responsibility for ensuring student progress records are completed in a timely manner, you will be responsible for completing and maintaining appropriate internal and external quality standards and contributing towards enrichment programmes, work placements and educational visits to enhance the learning experience.


Able to inspire students in their learning, you must be capable of devising and delivering learning opportunities to meet group and individual needs to GCSE level; communicating clearly and engendering enthusiasm for learning.  With successful teaching experience / practice in the 14-19 age range, you will have a creative and innovative approach to the development of teaching and learning and a recognised teaching qualification (or commitment to gain one).  A degree level qualification in English or a related subject is essential.

Tameside College is a coeducational further education establishment. It is situated in the town of Ashton-under-Lyne, in Lancashire. It gives students a range of qualifications to choose from. This includes BTEC, Apprenticeships and degrees. The college also manages and owns Clarendon Sixth Form College, Camp Street, Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire OL6 6DF.
