Joining us as a Teacher in Mechanical Engineering, you will provide high quality teaching, learning, assessment and pastoral support for students working in a busy mechanical engineering workshop environment.

A workshop based teaching role, you will deliver and develop high quality practical skills and underpin knowledge with engineering students; the main focus of the role being the planning, delivery and assessment of practical skills in the areas of fitting, milling and turning at level 2 and level 3.

Able to inspire students in their learning, you must be capable of devising and delivering learning opportunities to meet group and individual needs; communicating clearly and engendering enthusiasm for learning.

With specialist knowledge relating to mechanical engineering and manufacturing principles, you must be able to competently operate a range of engineering machinery and equipment such as Lathes, Milling machines, Drilling machines and Grinding machines etc. and have recent experience of working with learners with challenging behaviour. A relevant professional qualification at Level 3 or above is essential.

Tameside College is a coeducational further education establishment. It is situated in the town of Ashton-under-Lyne, in Lancashire. It gives students a range of qualifications to choose from.
