Required for September 2017

The Henley College is a highly popular and successful Sixth Form College in the heart of the Thames Valley. We are looking to appoint a full time teacher who ideally has the ability to teach across both our Pathways and Foundation Departments, these being two very different, but rewarding sections.

In our Pathways department, the student needs range from moderate / severe learning difficulties to profound, multiple learning issues and complex health conditions. We offer an exciting mix of learning to our students, individually tailored to their needs. Students take part in many purposeful activities in class both on and off site.

Our Foundation department supports the academic development of students who need additional teaching at Level Two and below in order to progress. Our Foundation curriculum consists of English, Maths, ICT, History and Employability at Entry Levels, Level 1 and Level 2.

This position would suit a positive and experienced SEND teacher. A kind, patient nature and sense of humour are essential, together with the ability to motivate students and a determination to raise achievement and develop skills.

The salary will be on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Main Teachers’ Pay Spine up to £37,984 per annum (pro rata for Part Time Teachers).

An application form and job description for the above positions can be:

“Success rates are particularly high for students studying on vocational, foundation and high-needs programmes. Students enrolled on English and mathematics courses at level 2 or below achieve well. For example, GCSE high grades are well above the rate of similar colleges for English and mathematics. A large number of apprentices achieve well above the national rate. Students enjoy college and attendance is high.”
