Job overview

We are a school situated on a farm on the Hampshire/Surrey border. We have 15 pupils on roll currently. They are aged 11-16 but there is scope to develop a post 16 provision. Our students all have SEND needs and have all disconnected with mainstream education for a range of reasons. We work together as a team at the school to overcome these barriers and struggles, building trust with our students allowing them to gain social skills, courage and knowledge to help them in later life. Whilst the pupils we work with present some challenging behaviour we hold high expectations of both students and staff.

Pupils currently study a range of subjects from Maths and English to Land Based Studies and Bushcraft. We use our unusual setting to its full potential, utilising its therapeutic nature to allow the academic lessons to happen.

We have a new position for a primary trained teacher to join our team to work with our pupils on their English and Maths (with a phonics and reading skills focus), at times 1:1 and also within a class setting. SEND experience is not necessary but a desire to help young people reach their potential and overcome barriers is imperative. Many of our pupils are working at KS1/2 and the appropriate candidate will support each individual with a personalised approach to ensure they strengthen their foundations and make progress. The capability to support these pupils through the levels over time and ultimately to GCSE would be the ultimate goal.  You will be required to support the team in devising an appropriate progress tracking system based on your knowledge of KS1 and 2 assessment criteria. Whilst the role will mostly be spent teaching Maths and English you will be expected to work outside and support the farm work that happens on a daily basis.

Pupils are here to change, adapt and flourish in positive and ambitious surroundings. If you are a teacher who can think creatively and wants to really differentiate work, break the mould and try something refreshing and undoubtedly rewarding, we urge you to apply and join our team.

Package includes pension, breakfast and lunch daily.

Insets are held at both our farm school and our sister school in Windsor.

Independent school calendar.
