Teaching ServiceJerrabomberra Public School (enrolment 920) is situated in the Queanbeyan area. The school is supported by a caring, collaborative staff and community. Priorities include positive student welfare practices, quality literacy and numeracy programs. The school and community promote a high expectation of student achievement. The school's core learning is enriched by a range of music, sporting, creative arts, public speaking and debating programs. The school services a large number of students from Defence families (20%). Our key focus areas for 2022 are improving individual literacy and numeracy outcomes, student wellbeing and digital technology across KLAs. Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (primary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (primary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing evidence based, personalised/group teaching, learning and behaviour programs that set high expectations and engage students with additional needs.
Demonstrated capacity to use assessment practices and data to drive improvement, specifically in literacy and numeracy outcomes.
Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with the school community.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
