If you have a strong background in engineering, and you love to share your skills and knowledge with others, then a job at Wakefield College awaits.
About the department:
Put simply, we’re at the forefront of delivering modern engineering courses. We have superbly-equipped workshops and specialist rooms at our purpose-built Castleford Campus, for courses in mechanical engineering, engineering maintenance, electrical and electronic engineering, plant engineering, fabrications and welding. We also have strong links with industry on a regional and international level, and employers are keen to attend the College and provide talks on their company and job opportunities.
All in all, it’s a fantastic place to learn for students, and a great place to come and work.
About the role:
It’s a typical lecturing role where we’ll expect you to be fully committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure our students achieve their full potential. Specifically, you’ll share your knowledge and practical experience of mechanical engineering on a range of courses to Level 3.
More about you.
If you’re passionate about your industry, are motivated and can inspire others, and you have an excellent track record of planning and delivering education or training, then you’ll fit right in. You’ll also need to hold relevant vocational or NVQ3 qualifications such as mechanical maintenance, welding and fabrication or machining, as well as a good standard of education to include English and Maths qualifications (GCSE level).
Don’t worry if you haven’t got your teaching qualification. Wakefield College will support your professional development through our Programme of Excellence.
