Position Information 

Pacific Palms Public School provides quality learning in a safe and happy community. Set on Worimi land and opposite beautiful Boomerang Beach, the school is committed to quality teaching and learning across all curriculum areas, providing programs tailored to meet individual learning needs. We offer strong literacy and numeracy programs and highly value the arts, science and technology and sporting initiatives. PPPS has a current enrolment of 270 students with 19 acknowledging Aboriginality.

 Our students are inspired to thrive and excel in a respectful, inclusive environment where wellbeing is supported, academic growth is maximised and self-directed learners are empowered for positive future pathways. Our students are valued and cared for and our positive wellbeing programs are designed to equip students with the skills to succeed.

Our passionate and dedicated educators provide engaging and challenging learning experiences, and respectful relationships are nurtured through collaborative partnerships, supported by an engaged community. Our students come from a diverse range of socio-economic backgrounds and we use PBL and strong wellbeing programs to support students and their needs.

The school has a supportive P&C that enhances the school team to enrich school programs and resources, we have recently created a community garden and playscape. We are a proud member of the Great Lakes Learning Community.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

1. Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education, with the ability to develop and deliver high-quality release from face-to-face programs.

2. Demonstrated ability to engage students through innovative teaching and learning experiences whilst promoting critical and creative thinking, digital literacy and a love of literature.

3. Capacity to effectively manage a flexible library space and its resources, that functions as a learning hub for the school utilising the Oliver Library Management System.

4. Highly developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and the wider school community, and contribute positively to the whole school culture.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

 

 
Special Notes 

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.

 

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.

 

This is a permanent part time position for  ( 3 days per week) 0.6 FTE (Full-time equivalent)
