Position Information 

Seven Hills West Public School current enrolment consists of approximately 360 students, including mainstream classes, support classes for students with special learning needs and a preschool. It is located in a well-established residential area in Sydney's west and is part of the wider Blacktown community. The school is well supported by a diverse and multicultural community. The school has an increasing enrolment of students with a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE), which currently stands at 63%. Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach Infants and Primary (K-6).

Approval to teach (primary) library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.

Demonstrated capacity to design, plan and implement innovative strategies in order to redefine the physical space and traditional role of the library. Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with a capacity to increase positive relationships, teamwork and engage all levels of the school and educational community. Demonstrated ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning. Willingness to teach Primary Science programs within Library. Demonstrated ability to design and deliver quality Information and Communication Technology programs in the classroom to support 21st Century teaching and learning. 

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 
Special Notes 

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.

This is a permanent part-time position for 4 days per week 0.8 FTE (Full-time equivalent).
