Preferred arrival date in Singapore will be 2 weeks before the start date.

Located in a popular residential neighbourhood, Nexus International School, Singapore is a well established school with almost 1000 students. Following a successful bid, we are building a new school on a greenfield site in central Singapore. 

The Secondary School Curriculum consists of KS3, IGCSE and IB Diploma. We are looking for passionate, hard working, learner focused individuals to join a collegial team and well-resourced department. Commitment to inclusion is required and knowledge of EAL would be desirable. Nexus has a well established Apple 1:1 scheme, so considerable interest and skill with digital technologies is expected.

Key Objectives Of The Position

This Job Description is to be read in conjunction with both the Secondary Subject Teacher

Teacher Job Descriptions. Consistent with school policies, the Teacher Librarian will be responsible for the following key objectives:

● To successfully manage the library across both primary and secondary schools, establishing goals and expectations with both staff and learners to ensure that it is used to its maximum potential.

● To ensure that the resourcing of the library meets teaching goals across the school for the primary and secondary curriculum, including PYP, ENC, IGCSE and IBDP.

● To be directly involved in teaching and learning across the school, aligning the use of the library to the school goals.

● To promote and participate in staff learning and development.

● To be available to teach classes as required, ensuring high standards of learning that meet with the school goals and ethos.

Previous overseas experience is not essential, however, the desire to work in a vibrant international inclusive community is preferred.

  • In Years 12 and 13, learners follow the Diploma Programme.

With over 90 Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) to choose from and a robust Singapore ACSIS sports program, students have numerous opportunities to engage in extracurricular activities.
