About Martock Church of England Primary School

Our children happily come to school each day. When they are here, they are engaged and interested in the lessons and the wide range of activities on offer.

We have high expectations and great ambition for all our children. I have been Head Teacher here for seven years and the children's progress and their achievements have improved year on year which is lovely to see. Many of the 2017 results showed our children to be achieving  at least national averages reflecting great progress from their individual starting points.

We are extremely proud to provide a varied, interesting and inclusive curriculum that allows children to develop as individuals and follow their own interests and passions. We have regular chances for them to do gardening, cookery, creative arts, singing, drama and exploring the local environment. On top of this the teachers and teaching assistants work incredibly hard to make sure each child  progresses in the key skills of reading, writing and numeracy.

Vision

Each child is nurtured in a secure and caring Christian environment and develops confidence and self-esteem.

Each child receives an excellent education, develops their skills and understanding, and fulfils their God-given potential.

Each child develops a positive attitude towards learning and fully and happily engages in the curriculum.

The school contributes to each child's happy, secure, spiritual, exciting, valuable and memorable childhood.

Each child develops knowledge, empathy and understanding that will enable them to make the world a better place and to enjoy fulfilling and positive lives.

Each child will enjoy life 'in all its fullness' (John 10:10)

Values

Kindness (like that shown by the Good Samaritan Luke 10: 25-37)

Respect (as demonstrated in the story of Ruth and Naomi Ruth 1: 16-17)

Collaboration (shown by Noah and his family as they built the ark Genesis: 6-9)

Effort (as needed by the friends of the paralysed man Mark 2)

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
We have high expectations of our staff and visitors in terms of keeping our children safe.
Please read the policies on this website that support this.

If you visit the school please follow the guidance on the signing in book as you arrive.
