Position Information 

Melville High School is located on Dunghutti land in the Macleay Valley and provides a quality education approximately 600 students. It is a comprehensive, coeducational school, with a strong focus on student growth and achievement, quality teaching, restorative practices and wellbeing. Opportunities are provided in academic, sporting, cultural, creative and technological learning areas and programs to develop social and employment skills are a focus. In 2021 Melville High School joined the Connected Communities Strategy which aims to improve outcomes for Aboriginal students and therefore all students.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  • Approval to teach Mathematics Years 7-10 and Mathematics Years 11-12. 
  • Evidence of effective classroom management and ability to develop inclusive learning environments which enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to integrate literacy, numeracy and technology into effective daily classroom practice. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that build positive relationships with students, staff and the school community.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively and collaboratively with the faculty to develop quality teaching and learning programs that meet the needs of a diverse range of students including Aboriginal students.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
