Position Information 

Narrandera High School is a rural comprehensive high school with a current enrolment of 354 students including 30% Aboriginal students. It services the township of Narrandera and its surrounding community on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. This area of the Riverina is the traditional land of the Wiradjuri people.

The school has a highly skilled and motivated staff who work collaboratively to enhance learning outcomes through evidence-based quality teaching practices. All students have the opportunity to develop their potential through an extensive range of academic, sport and extra-curricular programs. The school runs an extensive curriculum pattern for all students including a Compressed Curriculum model for Stage 6 students.

The school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning School and its main values are; Respect, Responsibility and Learning. The school maintains high expectations and aspirations for all students. The school is well supported by partnerships with local community organisations including TAFE and Narrandera AECG as well as the Narrandera High Parents and Citizens association.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  • Approval to teach Mathematics (7-12)
  • Demonstrated ability to cater for a diverse range of students with the capacity to collaborate and deliver innovative, quality teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience in the delivery of wellbeing strategies to cater for all student needs, with a strong focus on Positive Behaviour for Learning.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement evidence-based teaching practices to engage and develop students with a wide range of abilities with a focus on improving literacy and numeracy.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
