Position Information 

Picton High School (1100, 8% ATSI,) is a comprehensive, co–educational high school where all students can achieve their potential best through quality teaching and learning. Picton HS has recently moved into a new school with exemplary facilities and offers a diverse range of curriculum and wellbeing innovations to cater to a diverse range of learners and develops personalised learning plans to ensure academic and personal growth towards appropriate post-school pathways.

Specific Selection Criteria 

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.

  • Approval to teach Mathematics (Years 7-10) and Mathematics (Years 11-12).
  • Proven ability to develop innovative and engaging teaching programs that incorporate future-focused strategies to improve educational outcomes for all students, including those from low-socio-economic communities and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) families.
  • Demonstrated implementation of effective literacy and numeracy practices and the ability to deliver differentiated teaching programs with a focus on student growth and HSC performance.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and support the school improvement plan initiatives.
  • Proven capacity to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create mathematics classrooms that are engaging, inclusive and foster a culture of high expectations

 

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
