Job overview

Scalloway Primary School is a non-denominational school located in Scalloway.  It provides Primary Education from P1 to P7 and Early Years and Childcare for 3 and 4 year olds.  The school’s catchment area includes Scalloway, Trondra and the Tingwall Valley. Currently we have two Early Years classes and 7 straight stages in primary.  There are currently a total 175 pupils on the school and EY roll. The school is managed by a Head Teacher. The current staffing complement is 9 class teachers (2 job-shares), specialist teachers in Art, Music and PE.  Class teachers are assisted by support staff as required to meet school demands and the needs of the pupils.

Rate of pay shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.3112 per hour

Permanent Part Time post for 28.0 Hours per Week

Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups

(PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made

You must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) prior to starting in post
